Info on Friends of lapham Peak

The Friends of Lapham Peak was founded in 1989 as a nonprofit group dedicated to supporting and promoting the Kettle Moraine State Forest – Lapham Peak Unit in a variety of ways.  Some of the activities include sponsoring or promoting special events, fundraising for special projects, organizing volunteer work days and offering additional services to park visitors. Park Map. The park is located 3/4 mile south of I-94 on County Hwy C (Delafield exit #285), Delafield, Wisconsin, USA. We are a non profit and appreciation your donations. The park, named after Increase Laphamhas a focal point of a 45 foot observation tower atop the highest point in Waukesha County. The park’s glaciated topography provides excellent hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing on lighted trails. An abundance of wildlife and wildflowers, and a butterfly garden are present in the park. To find out more information on hiking and skiing click on Trail/Hike/Run Bike and Skiing.

The park also features SummerStage, an outdoor stage situated in a natural amphitheater off the lighted ski trail about 300 yards from the Evergreen Parking lot. For more information, please go to

Park hours: 7:00 am – 9:00 pm

During the snow season, the 2.5 mile lighted loop is lit Monday through Saturday until 9:00 pm. The park closes at 5 pm on Sundays.
